The Host
Ruby's interest in the legal system blossomed during a District Attorney Youth Academy, where she participated in a short mock trial ... as a defendant ... against real attorneys! In school, she noticed that many classmates also had a desire to learn about law. However, there weren't many opportunities to explore the field, especially not as a high school student.

During her sophomore year of high school, Ruby also started a Model UN club. It wasn't perfect, but it was an eye-opening look into global politics and affairs. She realized international relations as a subject can be hard to grasp; it definitely was for her as a first timer.

Putting these two factors together---the lack of law experience for high schoolers and the complexity of international relations---Ruby started working on Treaties and Trials. She was fueled by the desire to get fellow teens interested in law and break the intimidating stigma against diplomacy.

So come along on this journey of investigating the behind the scenes of treaty-signing and legal debate, started by a teen, for teens.
